So today was my second day on the job. I got taken out for lunch and then we visited the two streets I will be documenting over the summer. I am teaching myself how to create and manage databases in InMagic, which is a devilish program bent on making me insane before the end of the week, but my colleague and supervisor insists that it's what archivists use, and I'm an archival assistant for the next 3 months or so, so I guess I better bloody well get used to it. Tomorrow, we visit the City of Toronto Archives and a few other related institutions but I can't remember what they are.
I am biking to work. It's 3.9 miles each way, according to Mapquest. It takes me about 30 minutes to get there, but I bet I could do it in 20 if I didn't insist on carrying half my apartment in my backpack.
